If it's any consolation, LiveJournal is finally doing something about it (http://news.livejournal.com/).

I want to write something about the whole Strikethrough '07 thing, whatever, but so many people have compiled the facts better than I ever could (like this lovely lady right here (http://catrinella.livejournal.com/151812.html)). If anything I'd just make a post full of links.
